Vacation Pictures

At the end of last month I was on vacation for two weeks, and I figured in order to mix it up a bit around here, I should post a few photos from my trip. The trip included my girlfriend Crystal and I, and our good friends Tony and Jen. We went on a one week cruise to the Caribbean, followed by six days at Disney World. I brought my laptop of course, but didn't use it for much more than a photo storage device, as Internet in both the cruise ship and Disney World cost more than I was willing to pay. My digital camera came in very handy - I absolutely love being able to take as many pictures as possible without any thoughts of film. I have a basic point and shoot Kodak EasyShare CX7330 3.1 mega pixel camera, but it turned out some very nice shots. Used in combination with Walmart's digital printing service we have a nice photo album put together already without any hassle. Our first day on the cruise ship didn't have any great photo opportunities, as we were out to sea. The second day the ship stopped in Cozumel, Mexico and we took a trip to the mainland to visit the Mayan Ruins at Tulum. This was a very long trip, and was very hot. It was obviously set up as a tourist location, but that's what I expected, and it was fun to walk around for a bit despite the heat. There was also a beach at the site, obviously the best part of the entire experience for most of the people, as they were all there.

The third day the ship stopped in Belize and we went cave-tubing, basically river tubing through some caves, this was a very fun trip because we hiked through the rain forest to get to our river-entrance point, and it was a relaxing, cool float down the river.

The Fourth day the ship stopped in Costa Maya, Mexico and we visited the beach for a day of relaxation. It was fun and relaxing, but time went by pretty quickly.

The fifth day was another day spent "at sea," and the sixth day we visited Nassau, Bahamas - but we didn't take many pictures since all we did in that port was walk around the town and do a bit of shopping.

We spent the following six days after getting off of the ship, at Disney World. We visited all of the parks, some of them multiple times, we did all of the big roller coasters, some of them many many times, and we hit most of the smaller rides. Overall it was a good time, but it was crazy expensive, a bit crowded, and somewhat exhausting. Despite the drawbacks I still had fun.

I have about 300 more pictures of Disney World, but this post is already getting a bit long and I imagine it already feels enough like one of those boring slide shows that family members force you to sit through, so I'll stop for now. This trip itself, and my upcoming trip to Hawaii, have made me consider starting a travel blog, or a photo blog - but I haven't made a decision on either yet, if I do I'll be sure to mention it here.
