How Do I Fit Into the Blogging Universe?

When I first decided to join "the blogosphere" I hadn't even heard the term "blogosphere" before. I wasn't sure that blogging was something I would enjoy, but I wanted to try it out, and in turn I've been pulled into this interesting world. I find myself now seeing everyday events and activities as possible topics for blog entries, and I enjoy taking a bit of time to sit down and write something for others to read (despite my lack of readership so far). I have also been exploring the blogging world more than I ever have in the past, and I have found many interesting and helpful blogs and blogging related projects. One of the most unique and interesting of the blogger projects that I've seen so far is the 2000 Bloggers Website with a very large and impressive photo montage of bloggers (which now includes me, thanks Elaine!) - I look forward to seeing the interesting things that are produced from this project, specifically the "blogger art" that is already being created. I have also found that to be most effective in the blogosphere, my blog unfortunately may need some upgrades - Technorati doesn't index my site correctly due to it's custom format - and people may not immediately recognize it as a blog. It seems that at the very least I should create an RSS feed to syndicate my content. If I decide to write the software for an RSS feed I will likely attempt to write a custom blog publishing program as well, in order to streamline my entries. It would probably be very simple and only be capable of creating entries that look as mine do now, but I find the idea of writing my own software more exciting and challenging than adopting one of the available professional packages instead. If nothing else, the project would give me something somewhat interesting to write about every now and then :) Right now I almost feel overwhelmed by this new blog and the ideas it has been provoking in my head, but I am also looking forward to future possibilities. I don't yet feel that I've found the correct "writing style" or the correct feel, and possibly not even the correct topic for my blog, but at the very least I enjoy writing - and I am hoping that there actually is a place for me in the blogosphere.
