Improvement to Comment Code
Thanks to lots of feedback from people who weren't satisfied with my comment code, I have updated it so that it now accepts much larger comments (1500 characters was much too short, I didn't really test it sufficiently). Also, instead of ignoring line breaks and new paragraphs it now displays them without problems - this is also applied retroactively to all past comments that I've received. I am looking for a way to allow the html anchor tag to be used, but to still strip all other code, but I haven't found a good way to do it yet. I am making some progress on the behind the scenes part of the blog software as well, I am building a "control panel" type script which will allow me easier access to posting and editing. I am also working on applying the A* pathfinding algorithm to our RPG "Homeless Man", but progress is slow there as well. Anyway, feel free to try out the comment software, even though it will still work mostly the same way it always has - I could definitely use some comments on my last five or so posts!

does it work? I guess i'll see in a minute. Have you had any comment spam before? Seems like the UPC thing could be worked around.

I haven't had any comment spam, I think the UPC confirmation field works pretty well for keeping away automated bots, and if it were to be worked around, it would require some human input which is too much effort for most spammers, especially for a blog as small as mine. I do see a lot of hits on the comment posting script in my web stats (without the comments showing up), so I think that bots are attempting to post spam and not succeeding. I have worried that the UPC requirement is actually keeping people from commenting on my site because they miss it the first time, and rather than go back they just give up, but if it's keeping away the spam I think it might be worth it.

I just finished another quick addition to the comment software - I'm now using PHP to set and retrieve cookies for name, email, and website information, so if you comment on my blog and you allow cookies, your information will be saved for next time.
