I Hate the Term "Web 2.0"

I hate the term "web 2.0" - why? Because it is just another stupid buzzword. I hate buzzwords in general, but this one is more annoying than some. The web is, always has been, and probably always will be, an ever-evolving entity. New methods and technologies are thought up and implemented every day, so why should one particular section of this never ending evolutionary period be dubbed "web 2.0"? I don't know. If this "upgrade" to the web requires a buzzword for everyone to use, why does it have to be something as stupid as "web 2.0"? We may never know.

I'm with you! I wondered for a long time what that was all about. It actually makes the concept of interactivity less clear, in my opinion, when one uses jargon to promote it.
