Google can be Frustrating

I was initially thrilled when the first article I wrote for this site was indexed by google, ranked reasonably well for a few obscure keywords, and started getting some visitors through google searches. I was very upset when a site copying the text of my first article was favored by google over my site, the originator of the content, and I lost my little bit of traffic. I was once again thrilled when the site owner agreed to remove my article as he did not have permission to copy it, and that he followed through with the removal. Now we are a few weeks later and it seems I am still being suppressed by google, and he is no longer ranked because the page is gone, so neither of us is getting my obscure keyword traffic - I guess this is better than someone else getting traffic because of my work, but I am still frustrated with google's "advanced algorithm" and the way it blocked out and continues to block out the originator of content, despite the copy being removed. For now I'll have to say oh well, and hope that I get ranked again later on, but if anyone from google is reading this, have your software guys tweak the code that decides which site is the scraping conglomerate site and which is the newly published, struggling to attract readers blog with original articles site – thanks.
