Added a Favorites Icon Today

Today I added a rudimentary "favorites icon" to my site - not something I had thought of, but a post at 2kbloggers inspired me to dive in and make one - GIMP allowed me to save a 16x16 pixel image as a .ico file. Do you like it? Maybe too simple? I'm not sure if I will be inspired to do something more complex, but for now I am happy.

I also entered myself and my blog into the blog for a year contest, in yet another attempt to further promote my blog, and possibly win a contract that will pay me to blog for a year. This is an interesting experiment, and I like it so far, but the simplicity of the site, and the newness of the project has kept me from "donating" so far. If you have a second, I would appreciate if you vote for me! Tell me what you think of my entry.

Nice favicon, Kevin, I like it. Aren’t they fun to make? I had lots of fun creating mine. . . . When I was messing with templates for my blog I created a few potential favicons, all very simple but still nifty. Hmmm, too bad I don’t have a BLOG to go along with any of my favicons, heh. I should get on that, blogging. :) I definitely admire the devotion and time you’ve invested in this blogging project. I lack what it takes to keep a blog going and regularly updated, I think. I wish I had your master Udy-blogging skills.

Thanks Krystle, they are fun. The size limitations require a bit of creativity; unfortunately I wasn't feeling particularly creative when I made mine, but I think it fits my theme. I think if you blog about your passion - which you certainly seem to have - you won't have to search for motivation or feel that blogging is a chore, you just need to kick start the whole process!

I don't see any different favicon today; just the normal IE one. Perhaps it isn't working yet? Also... I went and voted for you on the blog for a year to get paid contest. I figured a poor student can use it. It was a good entry, and definitely knowing your a student would get my vote. Regarding your profession of computer science, there is another blogger man I met, not literally met, but anyway.... has his own blog and writes his own widgets and programs for it. Give him a try a ronalfy.com - you might want to drop into his blog and say hey; let him know Bonnie aka Grandma from Grandparents Corner suggested you drop over for a visit. I'll be away a few days having surgery and recuperating so my blog won't be updated until I'm feel better.

Take care, and enjoy! Hope you win the contest.
