How You Can Help Contribute:

In place of asking readers to "Buy Me a Beer", or "Buy Me a Latte", or even just asking readers for a Paypal donation, I have decided instead to ask for something that should be easier to give - a bit of your time, effort, and thought. One of my main goals in writing to this blog is to gain an audience and provide a service to my readers, and in order to do that I could always use help in promoting my blog. I originally wrote a blog entry called 18 Ways You Can Help My Blog - the idea behind that post was borrowed by a blogger named Will Taft. I am now borrowing the idea back from Will by creating this "Contribute" page, and asking you my readers to help me promote UPC Tech Blog in the following ways...

1) If you are a blogger or a webmaster, take this list, modify it how you like, and post it on your own site. If you do, please link back here and tell everyone where you got the original list. You will be helping both of us in the process!

2) Give this blog or a few of my good blog entries a thumbs up on your StumbleUpon toolbar, or even better, write a quick review of my blog for StubleUpon.

3) If you are a fan, a friend, or a related blog, add this blog to your Links page, or your blogroll.

4) Click this redirect link to visit this blog through Alexa.com - it helps boost my Alexa ranking by telling Alexa that you visited here.

5) Comment on one of the posts - this might be one of the simplest things on this list, but it helps tremendously in building a community, giving me feedback, creating a conversation, and encouraging other visitors to comment as well. Also, I always visit the sites of people who comment on my blog, and if I am linked to another blog, I always try to comment back.

6) Add my blog to your Technorati favorites, or link to me on your blog to increase my Technorati authority.

7) Send me some constructive criticism through email or a comment on one of my posts - help me to improve my writing and my blog.

8) Ask me a tech related question, or suggest a good tech topic to me. One of the hardest things in blogging is continuously thinking of fresh and interesting content for your readers - being asked questions or receiving suggestions for topics helps tremendously with this challenge.

9) Subscribe to my full-post feed and keep up with all of my future posts through your favorite feed reader, or subscribe by email.

10) Bookmark any of my blog entries that you like or find helpful or interesting at .del.icio.us.

11) Interview me, or have me guest post for your blog. I would gladly be interviewed about blogging, or tech related topics, and I would love to be a guest poster on any blogs that want me - just send me an email!

12) Digg an entry you like.

13) Join my community on MyBlogLog or Blog Catalog, or add me as a friend on either service.

14) If you enjoyed any of the content here tell your friends about this blog - word of mouth is often thought of as the best promotional tool.

15) Visit 25 Peeps, and click on my picture (if you don't know what I look like, check out the "About" section of this site).

16) Send me an email with more ideas to add to this page!

If you have worked your way through my list and still find yourself driven to help me succeed, first, I applaud your wonderful generosity, and secondly I suggest the following more traditional ways you can "contribute" to my blog's success:

I am an Amazon Associate, so if you buy Amazon.com products through the Amazon link in my sidebar, I get a small percentage of what you order - and you will be helping me pay for web hosting fees.

If you are a blogger or a webmaster looking for hosting, sign up for a hosting account with WebHost4Life using my affiliate link in the "Links" section. I get a referral commission for anyone who signs up through my link, and you will be helping me pay for web hosting fees.

Send me a monetary donation through Paypal!

Thanks for your time, and remember, if you like this page and would like to borrow it for your own site or blog, feel free to do so, but please link back here with an explaination of where you got the idea!
