Improvements to my Blog, and my Lack of Creativity

Today, besides working on a monstrously boring c program for school, I changed a few things around here. At first glance they probably aren't noticeable - first I added a second banner logo, with another scenic photograph from my files as the background. I then added a little javascript file that chooses between the two banners randomly. I also took a look at my structural HTML code, made a few improvements, and streamlined all of my pages with the same basic format. I figured this was the first step in building a program to publish posts for me, figuring out how I wanted it to write the HTML and CSS code in each new page. The visual display of the pages is basically the same, it looks slightly cleaner, but it's probably not noticeable to anyone besides me. I also started working on a feature that would automatically pull the first part of a post onto the main index, in order to effortlessly "preview" each post for the reader. I put a bit of thought into how I should implement comments, but I didn't actually start any coding on that feature yet. I have been doing a lot of "webmaster" work lately, I feel as though I am learning a lot, as well as refreshing my memory of things I've done in the past. I recently had someone tell me that my layout is too simple, and doesn't portray my personality well enough - despite this comment I can't think of anything visually that I would like to change at this point, besides a new banner - maybe I am just a simplified type of guy? So, besides brushing up on my webmaster skills, I need to find a few activities to get my creativity flowing, and maybe you'll see something more inspiring here as the result; in the mean time I am open to suggestions.
